We were meant to see mom After 3:12 in our spot, where I’d tell her I no longer like peanut butter in my lunch- Not peacefully imagining her face as the crimson wound Bloomed and blossomed across my chest Like watching that time-lapsed video of a flower’s life cycle in science Where we learned all living things Die. We were meant to trust you, So we knew our 9-1-1 pleas, whispering “please come, please,” Would be taken seriously. Now we paint our bodies in Bobby and Mary’s thick, sticky blood, Where we laid and prayed we looked just dead enough. Pop pop. No one comes. Pop pop pop. The music starts. Pop pop bang- There goes Billy - but we were meant to play tag today. Yes, we were meant to be children- Children who grow, see, imagine, and trust; Not lovingly placed in tiny boxes for tiny graves, Where lilies were meant to bring comfort But really they smell too ripe. Spoiled. Like death. We were meant to be More.

Pool safety tip of the day! Teach your kids the starfish float. One of the first skills taught to kids during swimming lessons is the “starfish float.” It’s a simple water survival skill where kids learn to relax and lay on their backs in the water with their arms and legs extended, making it easier to float. The starfish float is a basic survival technique that allows you to float for long periods of time if need be. Practice and model with and for your kiddos so they get the hang of it- it’s natural to initially sink slightly, but keep calm, still, and take deep breaths and you’ll float right up!

Just found some old journals and school projects- one thing is for sure, I have always been a writer! This 2 ingredient cloud dough is SO fun and satisfying to make.⁣ Don’t mind my stained fingers and chipped nails 💖 ⁣ 1. Mix 2 C corn starch⁣ with ⁣ 2. 1 C of conditioner⁣ ⁣ 3. Use a spoon or spatula to mix until incorporated- then knead with your hands. This part can get messy and sticky, but keep kneading, it will firm up.⁣ ⁣ 4. Cover hands in a bit more corn starch if needed.⁣ ⁣ 5. Optional- wear gloves and mix food coloring in- or don’t, and temporarily stain your hands like me 🖐 ⁣ ⁣ 6. Store in air tight container, and add more conditioner as needed if it dries. ⁣ Enjoy!⁣ It’s kind of like free therapy. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ #clouddough
