THESE WORDS ARE FOR YOU

Do you ever feel like the words "I love you" aren't enough? In her children's book, author Lindsay Rosasco puts into words the overwhelming love a parent feels for her child. These Words Are For You is a children's picture book soulfully depicting how everything in the world - every colorful, colorless thing in this world - has been waiting for you.

how the book

came to be

When my friend, who struggled with infertility, got pregnant against all odds, I knew I wanted to do a little something special, so I wrote a few lines of poetry and put it in a jeweled frame for the nursery. I wanted to convey how much her baby was wanted, loved, and meant to come at the exact time she got pregnant, because any other time and it wouldn't be wonderful "you."

The lines stuck with me - I found myself reciting them in the shower; I thought about them as I nursed my baby; they found their way to me during playtime with my toddler. I knew there was more to this story, and the words were bursting to get out.

This story captures my exact feelings towards my three children and was written during all different stages of their lives - it began by drawing on my nostalgia of my first two pregnancies, it grew as my love for my girls at different ages developed, it thought it was finished towards the end of my third pregnancy, but it finally changed and ended in revisions after my third daughter was born.

The words are real. They're every parent talking to their kids. The words are for anyone who holds someone near and dear to their heart. They're more than just "love." And guess what?

These words are for you.
